San Francisco 49ers superstar wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was briefly stopped by a police officer for the most bizarre reason after taking out his brand new $90,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk for a spin.
On his YouTube channel, Brandon Aiyuk shared a video of himself ecstatically taking out his luxurious vehicle on the road. During the adventure, Aiyuk was spotted by a cop who ordered him to pull over after driving 53 MPH.
Aiyuk kept the camera rolling during the interaction with the officer. The cop explains that he pulled Aiyuk over because he believed the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk was stolen, noting that this specific vehicle is frequently stolen.
Brandon Aiyuk explains that it’s a “brand new” vehicle, and that he isn’t someone who needs to steal cars. The officer states, “I don’t watch football”, and Aiyuk responds with, “You don’t have to watch football…nothing says I’m stealing cars.”
The officer tells Aiyuk that it looks suspicious and proceeds to look into the situation. Sure enough, he learns that Aiyuk purchased the car legally and lets him go.
Aiyuk, who turns 27 next month, has spent his entire five-year career with the 49ers.
Brandon Aiyuk Looks To Rebound In 2025
Aiyuk was having a down year before suffering season-ending MCL and ACL tears that ended his campaign after seven games. The 2020 first-round pick had just 25 catches for 374 yards and no touchdowns prior to the injury.
The two-time 1,000-yard receiver continues to focus on rehab and will hopefully be healthy and at full strength by the time Week 1 of the 2025 season rolls around.
