An Argentinean gave a sick dog the sweetest farewell gift imaginable after adopting him to spend his last days with “unconditional affection”.
When poor dog Thanos was diagnosed with cancer, it quickly advanced to his head and created the massive tumor visible in the photos.
Four different families had previously rejected Thanos due to his illness. Fortunately, during the last few weeks of his life, good Samaritan Luciano Carrosas took the unfortunate dog home.
A malignant tumor found in Thanos’ head.
Thanos, the dog formerly known as Coconut and adopted by 21-year-old Luciano, was only given a few weeks to live due to a dangerous tumor that was growing in his skull.
Thanos, who was known as Coconut before being adopted by the cute Argentine, has only a few weeks left to live due to a deadly tumor growing inside his head.
He was only diagnosed for a few weeks.
When Thanos received the terrible news, he was already staying with a different family, who felt compelled to abandon him when it became impossible to take care of him once the disease reached his skull.
After being adopted by several other families, Thanos eventually returns to an animal shelter where he meets his latest companion, Luciano, because the previous families were baffled by his illness and its consequences.
Throughout his last days on Earth, Luciano wanted to show him unwavering love.
The dog’s poignant story moved the 21-year-old as he went to the shelter, decided to take the dog in, and give him the most loving last weeks possible there and then. He admitted to Portal Amigo Cao that he had a piece of his heart in his palm when he left.
In addition to worrying about his new pet’s health, Luciano was keen to make the moments of Thanos’ death memorable. He did everything he could to save the animal at first because he didn’t want to accept that there was nothing he could do. The 21-year-old took the pup to a vet in a last-ditch effort to try and save his life, hoping they could help.
He said – I had a hard time getting used to the idea that we would spend so little time together. No medication can extend that time, which is what I was told when I took him to a stem cell vet to see what we could do to give him more hope (he was given 40 days to live).
While there was nothing they could do and the news was depressing, Luciano and Thanos made the most of their time together.
In his short time with Luciano, Thanos seemed cheerful as ever. He even gave the dog as much attention as possible, giving him time to play and cuddle like any other dog.
As expected, the terrible disease affected Thanos, who passed away very soon after. In addition to wishing him a “bon voyage,” his new owner and adorable all-around Samaraten also posted on social media, “I will adore you forever.”
