Nike is one of the world’s top Sports brands; many fans know and love its products. Some of those fans are massive star athletes who will represent it on the biggest stage in their respective sports.

Nike has signed some of the biggest names in the world of sports. Their roster of athletes includes the likes of Caitlin Clark,Β LeBron James, andΒ Victor Wembanyama. They have even gone as far as to collaborate with reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

As the company attempts to be a world-class brand, it always makes moves to appeal to mass audiences. One of the biggest audiences in the world of sports is fans and athletes of female sports leagues.

However, Nike may have gone too far with one of its most recent ads. Some of the biggest stars in women’s sports even call out the sports brand for its commercial and ” fakeness” after it failed in a particular category.

The ad, which includes lines such as β€œYou can’t win, so win” and β€œYou can’t fill a stadium, so fill that stadium,” is now being criticized after it failed to address one of the biggest issues facing women’s sports.

β€œI’ve never been told that I can’t flex or can’t do this or that,” stated Canadian powerlifter April Hutchinson in aΒ video uploaded by XX-XY Athletics, which is an advocacy group advocation for the prevention of biological males in women’s sports.

β€œThat Nike ad kinda represented old feminism. I don’t think anyone is telling women in sports they can’t champion their sport,” added Sia Liilii, who captains the University of Nevada Women’s Volleyball squad.

Other athletes in the video went off saying stuff like:Β β€œFake feminism, Pretending to care about women, and Nike is ignoring the real problem.” was all said.

Nike has yet to respond to any backlash received after premiering the commercial duringΒ Super BowlΒ 59. If Nike has anything to say, odds are, they will have to make it heartfelt due to the outpouring of dislike for it.
