Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has broken his silence following his clash with US President Donald Trump.

Sky News presenter Anna Jones halted proceedings to reveal the details of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s new statement following the dramatic scenes with Donald Trump in the White House on Friday (Februry 28)
“Let’s just bring you a little bit of breaking news, and we’ve just heard for the first time from President Zelensky since the scenes in the oval office yesterday, that explosive meeting with Donald Trump and J D Vance.
“He has posted on Telegram in the last few minutes saying it is very important for us that Ukraine is heard and not forgotten, neither during the war nor after,” she said.
She then proceeded to read his statement which said: “People in Ukraine need to know that they are not alone, that their interests are represented in every country, in every corner of the world.”
Continuing she said: “He goes on to say, ‘thank you for your support during this difficult time, for all your efforts, for the sake of Ukraine and Ukrainians, and for your help, not only diplomatic, but financial, but also political and spiritual’.

“So President Zelenskyy posting on Telegram in the last few minutes saying it’s important that Ukraine is heard and not forgotten.
“President Zelenskyy expected to go to Keir Starmer’s defence summit in London tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see whether he says anything more,” she concluded the report.
This statement is sure to infuriate Trump and JD Vance, who told Zelensky he should be more grateful to the US for their aid, and be more open to negotiating with Putin.
On Sunday, the UK Prime Minister is set to hold a summit of more than a dozen leaders from Europe and the EU to “drive forward” action on Ukraine.
Zelenskyy’s statement followed his disastrous meeting with Donald Trump in Washington. The Ukrainian leader became embroiled in a fiery exchange with the US President and his Vice President JD Vance in front of the world’s media in the White House.

A press conference that was scheduled to follow the signing of an historic deal to provide US access to Ukrainian minerals was cancelled following the altercation.
Zelenskyy subsequently took to X after he was seen leaving the White House following the contentious chat.
“Thank you America, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you @POTUS, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace, and we are working exactly for that,” he wrote.
The White House confirmed that the minerals deal, which Zelensky had travelled to Washington to conclude, was not signed by either party.
