Trump’s White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt began juggling job duties, and motherhood, just days after giving birth
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt doesn’t spend much time talking about herself — but that hasn’t stopped her from giving America something to talk about.
Not only is she the youngest person ever to serve as White House Press Secretary at 27, but she’s also a new mom to 7-month-old Nicholas “Niko” Robert. President Trump met her bundle of joy for the first time just a few weeks ago, Leavitt told The Post.
“I brought my husband and son for the swearing-in ceremony at the White House, and he was so kind and complimentary,” she recalled.

That introduction was a long time coming, since little Niko has been along for the ride on the Trump train long before he was born.
Leavitt was already expecting when she took the job as spokesperson for then-candidate Trump’s 2024 campaign, and spent the first half of 2024 stumping for Trump with a growing belly.
She welcomed her son into the world with husband Nicholas Riccio, 59, on July 10. Just three days later, she held her newborn in her arms while tuning into Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., and watched him get shot on live TV — and survive the first of two assassination attempts.
She was back on screen — and the campaign trail — the very next day, resuming her role as spokeswoman for Trump’s presidential campaign just four days postpartum.

She hasn’t slowed down since, and was named the president’s pick for White House press secretary after he sailed to victory in November.

While she buckles down each day to whip the press into shape from behind the podium, she uses motherhood as a motivator.
“Being a mom helps me to be better at my job,” she said. “It gives me a great perspective on life and allows me to remember that not every bad day is the end of the world because my greater purpose is being a mom.”
It helps to be in good company at the White House, where she says she’s far from the only one with little ones at home.
“It’s a very pro-family White House,” Leavitt said, adding that it’s not just the women of the White House who have blossoming broods of youngsters. “There are many men on our team who are working fathers of young children as well.”
She’s not the first new mom to run the White House briefing room. Kayleigh McEnany, another Trump pick, gave birth to a daughter in November 2019. She was tapped for the job the following April, when her daughter wasn’t yet 5 months old.
That’s all part of Trump’s pro-woman, pro-family legacy, Leavitt told The Post.
“President Trump doesn’t get enough credit for the women and the working mothers that he’s uplifted throughout the years both in business and in politics,” she said. “And I’m just one of many women on a very long list.”
Also on that list is now-Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas, who had three kids under 5 when she was tapped as White House press secretary in 2017.

Despite his all-business exterior, Trump sometimes shows a softer side when it comes to little kids.
Last week, a video circulated on X of the prez taking a photo with Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy’s daughter Valentina, 5, who has Down Syndrome.
After taking one picture with her by his side, Trump picked up the beaming little girl, pretending to strain lifting “such a big girl,” and placed her on his lap for another photo.
Those rare and precious moments aren’t the ones the media prefers to put on display.
Anyone who’s cut their teeth in Trump’s orbit is no stranger to the media malpractice, petty onslaughts, nagging naysayers, and the name-calling aimed in his direction.
And for the White House press secretary, that all comes with the territory.
Asked what it’s like to be the spokesperson for a man who likes to do so much of the talking himself, Leavitt told The Post she’s grateful to the president for making her job easier with his famous candor and accessibility.
“I very much enjoy working for a boss who’s incredibly transparent, honest, and open all the time,” she said.
“It actually makes my job easier to work with someone like President Trump, who speaks for himself and is decisive, and is the true leader of our team at the White House.” she said.

While she didn’t mention her boss’ predecessor in her conversation with The Post, it’s not hard to decipher the message: Where Biden was a no-show president whose staffers played him like a marionette, Trump is fully in the driver’s seat of this administration.
“He calls the shots and gives direction, and it’s my job to echo his message,” she added.
