A New York Jets player was reportedly robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.
According to the Morristown Department of Public Safety, Morristown police responded to multiple 911 calls around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday following reports of an armed robbery in the Windmill Pond section of the town.
NBC New York reports that an eyewitness observed three unidentified males get out of a vehicle all brandishing weapons and rob two individuals in another vehicle.
“To be honest, I cannot make sense of what happened. I saw them take something from the garage – I was thinking ‘OMG ‘Oh my God, this is a robbery,’” the witness, who didn’t wish to be identified, was quoted as saying.
The robbers are understood to have made off with money and other valuables.
No injuries were reported.
One of the victims is said to be a player for the Jets, but the Morris County Police Prosecutor’s Office wouldn’t confirm as much to NBC, simply telling the outlet, “the incident remains under investigation.”

Police were trying to come up with surveillance footage as of Wednesday. They believe the victims were targeted and followed for around 30 miles from Manhattan.
“There is no presumed threat to the public, and police believe it was an isolated incident,” NBC notes.
Investigators have been questioning the victims and witnesses while canvassing the area for any footage that might come up.
Meanwhile, the New York Jets have not made any statements in regard to the report, which is probably best for now as the matter remains under investigation.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
