Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is preparing for her second season in the WNBA following a dominant and historic rookie year in 2024.
Amid her success, which included etching her name into the record books on numerous occasions during her freshman season, the former LSU standout and national champion was continuously pitted against fellow rookie sensation, Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
Their rivalry goes way back and reached a boiling point during the 2023 NCAA women’s basketball championship between LSU and Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes.

In fact, she plays into it, and even started her own podcast perfectly titled ‘Unapologetically Angel.’
On a recent episode of her podcast, Reese spoke with WNBA star DiJonai Carrington. During the show, the two spoke about the current state of WNBA salaries.
Carrington mentioned that she’s “been in those meetings,” referring to the players association, where the league is attempting to come together and give its players a raise.
During the show, Reese sent what many believed to be a warning shot at the WNBA.
“The women coming in, not this year, but next year,” Reese said. “The ones coming next year will still be on the rookie contract. The ones the year after, they going to get more than us, they probably going to be making more than us. I’m hurt … If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out.”
