Angel Reese and Gabby Thomas have been revealed as cover stars for Vogue’s latest issue, with the basketball player and Team USA sprinter taking center stage for the iconic fashion magazine.
Reese – known in college as the ‘Bayou Barbie’ for her sense of style – and Thomas separately graced the cover for the Winter 2025 issue, with both of their covers reading ‘When Sports Met Fashion.’
Reese posed in a red dress while Thomas was pictured in black-and-white, wearing a frilly white blouse.
The Chicago Sky center beamed about the news on social media, re-posting the cover to her X account with the caption ‘COVERGIRL.’
She explained to the publication, ‘It’s always been both: basketball and fashion.’
‘I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together,’ she later said.

Reese and Thomas both spoke to the publication about their love for fashion
Thomas, meanwhile, added that she feels like she’s ‘just starting to get a sense of what I like.’
And tennis star Frances Tiafoe was also featured in the piece – titled ‘How Sports and Fashion Fell in Love.’
‘If I’m in the city during Fashion Week, I’m not not going,’ Tiafoe added.
It was a memorable year for all three, as Reese earned an All-Star nod as a WNBA rookie, Thomas claimed three gold medals in Paris and Tiafoe reached his second US Open semifinal.
However, Reese recently faced backlash for her revealing New Year’s Eve look – later deleting the post from her social media.
The 6-foot-3 hoops star wore mocha-colored, animal print, full-length gown which was embellished with ruffled detailing and an extremely-high split up the leg.
Fans’ attention was also captured by the daring cut design of the tight-fitting dress, with a cut-out in the midsection plunging below her belly button and barely fastened together across the chest by a thin brown string.
Following LSU’s 94-87 loss to Iowa in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament last year, Reese had claimed that she had to play through off-court woes, including being sexualized.
‘I just try to stay strong,’ she told reporters. ‘I’ve been through so much. I’ve seen so much. I’ve been attacked so many times. Death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been threatened. I’ve been so many things, and I’ve stood strong every single time.
‘… I’m still human. All this has happened since I won the national championship, and I said the other day, I haven’t been happy since then.’
