Fans can’t believe it. Angel Reese just dropped a BOMBSHELL after her Unrivaled win — and what she said about WNBA salaries might confirm what we all feared 😳💰

‘Sorry to break it to you’ – Angel Reese slams Caitlin Clark teammate over rookie WNBA contract after winning $50,000

Clark’s teammate first sent a message to Reese on the social media platform X

ANGEL Reese made sure to hit back at Caitlin Clark’s teammate over her rookie WNBA contract.

The Chicago Sky star won a $50,000 bonus on Monday after her Rose BC team won the championship in the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league’s inaugural season.

Reese and each of the players on the championship-winning squad earned a $50,000 prize as part of Unrivaled’s goal to pay players more than almost any other professional women’s sports league.

Shortly after the bonus was secured, Reese wrote on X, “50K NEED DATTTTT,” which caused Clark’s Indiana Fever teammate Sydney Colson to reply to her.

“Hey angel girl, just wanted to check in and see how ur doing and just let u know I’m here for u if u need anything..esp if u need to get rid of 50k by tomorrow or anything like that,” Colson jokingly messaged Reese.

But Reese then took a shot at her first-year WNBA salary in her response to Colson.

“… I’m sorry to break it to you but I’m on a rookie contract,” Reese said on X, “and that 50k was a little more than half of my contract so I have to keep that to myself.”

“…. sorry 🙁 give ,e a few years and i gotchu.

“be well.”

Reese referenced the fact that she signed a four-year, $324,393 rookie scale contract with the Sky last year before her first WNBA season.

She is set to earn just under $75,000 in her second campaign in 2025.

The two-time WNBA champion Colson is due to receive $90,000 with the Fever this year.

Reese’s latest comments on her WNBA rookie contract come just a week after she threatened on her Unapologetically Angel podcast that there could be a WNBA lockout if she and the rest of the league’s players don’t get paid more money.

“If y’all don’t give us what we want, we sitting out,” Reese said.

The LSU product’s salary doesn’t include her numerous endorsement deals, which include Reebok, McDonald’s, Beats by Dre, among others.

Reese is also a part owner of the USL Super League soccer team, DC Power FC.

During the current WNBA offseason, the 22-year-old Reese joined Unrivaled, which was founded by Napheese Collier and fellow WNBA star Breanna Stewart.

The league has the highest average salary for players of any pro women’s sports league as many of the players have six-figure salaries.

The 2024 Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark was reportedly offered more than the guaranteed $250,000 salary to participate in the first season.

But the Indiana Fever star turned down the offer due to the fact she wanted to take some time off after a busy 2024.

Six teams that consisted of 36 combined of the best players in the WNBA played during the eight-week regular season.

Unrivaled commissioner Micky Lawler shared that next season will likely have six teams but that the league is expected to expand to markets other than Miami in the future.
