“LMAO!!!” Fox’s National Reporter Advocates Against Poor WCBB Coverage as She Embarasses Men’s College Hoops With a Startling Fact

The popularity of women’s college basketball has experienced remarkable growth in recent years. Players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Kamila Cardoso, and Paige Bueckers, with their dynamic skill sets, have captured the attention of fans and contributed to the growth of the sport we love tenfold.

The titanic ROTY battle between Clark and Reese last season has its roots in the NCAA. The 2023 NCAA final between LSU and Iowa which saw these two superstars go head to head amassed a viewership of close to ten million. This shows that the love for the sports is steadily increasing.

Despite the steady growth of the sport, basketball analyst Kim Adams is slightly displeased with the current TV coverage of the Women’s basketball scene. She notes that the coverage of Men’s Basketball avoids that of the NFL and gets prime slots as opposed to the women’s division.

Taking to X, she announced her displeasure of having to watch twenty national games simultaneously on a Sunday. Adams though already has a solution to it and has suggested that more WCBB games should be televised during the week rather than broadcasting all of them simultaneously on a single day.

This not only solves the confusion a viewer might have regarding which game to watch, but it also makes the WCBB more accessible to the audience, hence generating more views.

Continuing her thread, she proceeded to say,”These are the type of details that make it unimaginable that the women’s NCAA championship outdrew the men’s last year.”When you post such a controversial statement, you are bound to receive some backlash from the MBB fans. And it did happen. But Kim, unsurprisingly, had stats to back it up!

Kim Adams defends her statement about WCBB’s popularity

Answering the fans who respectfully disagreed with her regarding the popularity of Women’s College Basketball being more popular than Men’s College Basketball in terms of viewership, Adams put out an interesting stat!

She pointed out to the highest-watched NCAA game of last season. The NCAA Women’s final between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Iowa Hawkeyes. An immense tactical battle between Dawn Staley and Lisa Bluder.

Dawn Staley’s South Carolina courtesy of star player Kamila Cardoso emerged victorious against the Caitlin Clark-led Hawkeyes. It broke all sorts of viewership records. 18.9 million people tuned into ABC and ESPN to watch the highest point-scorer in NCAA history play.

While Adams is right about her part, there is no denying that the growth of WCBB has been growing steadily thanks to the likes of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. But, is it right to say that WCBB is watched more than MCBB on the basis of just one game? Do let us know your thoughts on this!
