The 2025 WNBA draft is just 34 days away, and officials still haven’t announced a location for the league-altering event.
As noted by, Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports, the exact location and time for the Apr. 14 event are still listed as “TBD” on the WNBA website. Schiffer reached out to a league spokesperson for comment, and they told him it’ll be in New York.
The league still hasn’t made a full announcement, and the exact location and times for the WNBA draft remain a question. This is a giant surprise, considering that the league is wasting significant time marketing its special event.
As noted by Schiffer, the 2024 WNBA draft sold out at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Generational prospect Caitlin Clark went first overall to the Indiana Fever, and the draft averaged a record 2.4 million viewers, per Schiffer.
LSU Tigers star Angel Reese, selected No. 7 overall by the Chicago Sky, was another big-named prospect that contributed to the sky-high viewership numbers.
UConn Huskies superstar Paige Bueckers is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. The 23-year-old is averaging 19 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game over 32 contests.
The 2024 WNBA season saw a massive 48 percent increase in viewership, thanks largely to the “Caitlin Clark effect.” With Clark cementing herself as one of the league’s premier superstars, the league should enjoy yet another surge in attendance and TV ratings in 2025.

The Dallas Wings were the lucky winners of the WNBA Draft following a disappointing 9-31 finish in 2024. They now have the opportunity to take a franchise-changing star in Paige Bueckers, who would join a promising core led by four-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale and Teaira McCowan.
