SAN ANTONIO – As part of sweeping cuts across the federal government as Trump’s second term begins, a local organization has seen a major contract end.

As part of widespread budget reductions across the federal government at the start of Trump’s second term, a major contract for a San Antonio-based organization has come to an abrupt end.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had officially terminated an $18 million-per-month contract with Family Endeavors. The funding was allocated for the operation of an empty facility in West Texas.

Family Endeavors, also known simply as Endeavors, has its administrative headquarters and wellness center located on De Zavala Road in San Antonio, where the organization runs multiple offices and storefronts.

DOGE specifically pointed to an overflow housing facility for migrant families that Endeavors operates in Pecos, Texas. The agenc$18 million per month, theunused.

Following DOGE’s announcement, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) repostedX,U.S. Attorney Ed Martin with“please investigate.”

Martin swiftly responded: “Duly noted. We are on it.”
