The James genes are finally kicking in! It was only a few months ago that Bronny James created history by teaming up with LeBron to become NBA’s first active father-son duo. But the rookie’s role on the Lakers has since then been resorted to playing only garbage minutes.

However, Bronny is starting to come into his own, playing in the G League. And tonight, he took a page out of Daddy James’ book, sending the fans into a frenzy. Obviously, no one was prouder than LeBron and Savannah.

As the South Bay squad faced the Rip City Remix, Bronny had some highlight-worthy moments. The first one came early in the opening quarter as the rookie made a smooth cut to the basket and threw down a nasty alley-oop for two points.

But he was not done! Later in the game, Bronny crossed over a defender on top of the key and drove in for an insane tomahawk slam over the Rip City big man. Of course, that’s the signature dunk LeBron has been embarrassing defenders with for over two decades.

Sure, Bronny’s landing was not as majestic as his father, because he ended up losing his footing and falling to the floor. But no one cared about it because the entire arena was buzzing from his outrageous poster!

Even LeBron could not hold back his excitement as he shared the video of Bronny’s alley-oop slam on his IG story, with a wholesome message, “Take your flight” with a KING emoji. Minutes later, the Lakers star shared the video of his son’s second poster dunk with only furious face emojis.

Naturally, Savannah also jumped in the action and shared the post, writing, “Oh that’s what we on?!?!” Just goes to show how proud his parents were. With Bronny imitating LBJ’s moves to perfection, everyone wants to see the father-son duo in action again.

Yes, Adam Silver and Co. reportedly sought out LeBron and Bronny to participate as the first-ever father-son team in the Skills Challenge of next month’s All-Star Weekend. An event where the winners bagged $55,000 last year. But the invitation was turned down by the two stars.

Moreover, Bronny reportedly also declined the chance to participate in the Rising Stars Game as part of the G League team. Every player on the winning team took home $25,000 last year.

However, it looks like the five-figure prize was not a concern for the young rookie as he already has a $7.9 million contract in hand. While fans won’t get to see him participate in the star-studded weekend, they could not stop raving about his highlight dunks.

Just like LeBron and Savannah, the entire hoop community was left in awe of Bronny’s highlight plays. Unsurprisingly, everyone noticed the similarity with his father as comments like “LeGenes are kicking in” and “Bro finally remembered who his father is” began flooding in.

Moreover, Laker Nation also bestowed the youngster with a new nickname, “Oh my glorious Prince James where do I begin” obviously stemming from his father’s ‘King James’ tag.

Sure enough, many netizens were also left in awe of Bronny’s athleticism as one wrote, “Nah that’s good bounce Bronny.” Well, his hops should not come as a surprise because the rookie recorded a 40.5-inch vertical at the draft combine. And that number might have increased even more now that he is a pro hooper.

Of course, many hopeful Lakers fans also believed tonight’s performance could help elevate his game, “Hopefully this gives him that confidence he need.”

Apart from the highlight dunks, Bronny also had an epic performance, finishing with a career-high 31 points. Such nights can help boost his confidence and maybe, the world will see a similar highlight from him soon while representing the main roster.
